A life long resident of Provincetown, Mary-Jo has been a licensed real estate agent for 14 years, specializing in Provincetown, as well as the towns of the Lower Cape. An elected official for the better part of the past 40 years, Mary-Jo brings her love of Provincetown to every facet of her life, especially to her clients whom she hopes will come to love the town as much as she does.
A graduate of Provincetown High School and the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Mary-Jo and her husband Duane Steele once owned the famous Red Inn. Duane, also a Provincetown native, is a former bureau chief of the Providence Journal and owner of the Provincetown Advocate weekly newspaper, which was sold to The Banner. During their ownership of the newspaper, Mary-Jo was a featured columnist and arts and entertainment reporter.
When not working in the real estate office, Mary-Jo can be found five months a year at Bubala's by the Bay where she is the baker and a shift manager. Mary-Jo has two step-children and 4 grandchildren & 3 step-grandchildren. When not involved in the town's politics, Mary-Jo is an accomplished knitter. Both she and her husband love the beach.
As a result of one of her granchildren living in Montreal, Mary-Jo also speaks some French.
